Brook Hill Cottage - Accommodation Details

The Cottage

Brook Hill Cottage offers accommodation for 4 - 8 people in 4 bedrooms.

The master bedroom has a king-size double bed, en suite bathroom and ample space for a travel cot if required.  There are 2 further double bedrooms and one twin room with use of a family bathroom with shower over a bath.  Both bathrooms have under floor heating and heated towel rails.

Downstairs the layout is open plan, with the option of separating off the living room with sliding screen doors.  The kitchen is well equipped with all mod cons, including dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, double oven and induction hob and is well stocked with a wide selection of crockery, glassware, pans, baking equipment, utensils, picnic ware and Tupperware.  A dining area provides plenty of space for 8 people to sit down for a meal.  We also provide a welcome pack of basics including milk, bread, butter, fruit and eggs, and staples such as tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil, salt & pepper.

A utility room leading off the dining area provides a washing machine, tumble dryer, additional fridge and freezer, iron, ironing board and plenty of space for drying or storing walking and/or sports kit.  There is also a downstairs toilet and secure garage with flat access through to the back garden, big enough for a car and several bikes or other sports equipment.

At the front of the house, there is off-street parking for 2-3 cars on a gravel drive and deep flower beds to frame your views out over rolling hills of green grazing land.  at the back of the house there is a small lawn and graveled courtyard with garden furniture for dining al fresco.  There is also a hose for cleaning down bikes and hiking gear.

Other features

The renovation of the house has been undertaken whilst being mindful of the environmental impact, both in terms of climate change and using a design that is in-keeping with the rest of the village.

Many of the building materials have been salvaged and recycled from other outbuildings that were taken down as part of the renovation or from the farm next door.  The heating and hot water system is powered by a woodchip biomass boiler, boosted by solar power.

Situated close to the major routes between Sheffield, Manchester and Leeds, all three cities and surrounds are easily accessible by car. Local towns of Holmfirth and Penistone offer plenty of places to shop, eat and drink
