Brook Hill Cottage is your home from home in rural Yorkshire, and a perfect base for exploring the Peak District National Park and surroundings. Nestled in the hamlet of Carlecotes, this 4 bedroom, self-catering, semi-detached house is available all year around for holiday lets.
Having been extended and superbly renovated in 2013, Brook Hill Cottage offers bright, modern accommodation, whilst remaining sympathetic with the local architecture. The downstairs living area is light and spacious, providing lounge and kitchen-diner areas which can be left open-plan or divided off with sliding doors.
A state of the art biomass boiler provides heating and hot water (which is also boosted by solar heating). In addition, there is a log burning stove in the living room to ensure the cosiest of evenings. Fuel for the boiler, electricity, water, a starter pack of logs (2 baskets), towels and linen are included in the price of your stay. We can provide a spare set of linen for guests staying for 2 weeks, and information is provided as to where you can buy additional logs for the wood burning stove.
This area of Yorkshire is full of things to do, with great walking, cycling and climbing routes, stately homes, arts venues, abundant bird life, farmlands, award winning food producers and plenty of days out.
You will find some ideas of things to do and places to explore during your stay on the "Local Area" page of this website.
With Holme Moss and the Strines, Langsett and Ladybower a few kms away, Brook Hill Cottage is a great base for a cycling holiday or training week, on or off road. There is secure storage for your bikes, plenty of washing and drying facilities for bikes and kit, track pump and chain cleaner and a great kitchen to help with refuelling your energy supplies. We can provide route ideas and suggest stop-offs for coffee, lunch and cake on your rides.
